10ZiG Adds Support for Omnissa Horizon Client for Linux 2606

10ZiG Technology has announced support for the recently released Omnissa Horizon Client for Linux 2606. This update introduces substantial improvements to video decoding performance on 10ZiG devices equipped with Intel or AMD graphics processors.

The new Horizon Client version enhances VAAPI video decoding performance, delivering gains of up to twofold on systems utilizing Intel and AMD GPUs. These enhancements are designed to improve the responsiveness of remote desktops and published applications delivered via the Omnissa Horizon platform.

10ZiG and Omnissa maintain a close technology partnership. As part of this collaboration, 10ZiG provides Omnissa with thin client hardware for testing and optimization purposes. This allows both companies to validate Horizon releases against purpose-built endpoint hardware and refine the user experience for their mutual customers.

Testing has demonstrated significant performance improvements on 10ZiG's 7100q and 7300q series devices, powered by AMD Ryzen R2514 and Intel N100 processors, respectively. The performance gains encompass supported codecs, including H.264, HEVC, and AV1. This enables a smoother and more responsive virtual desktop experience for organizations utilizing compatible 10ZiG endpoints.

10ZiG is currently pursuing Omnissa Ready certification for Horizon 2606. This certification will apply to compatible 10ZiG NOS™ and PeakOS™ models that support VAAPI video decoding, offering customers validated options for deploying the latest Horizon Client capabilities.
