11th Global Mazu Culture Forum convenes in Fujian
The 11th Global Mazu Culture Forum opened on November 1 on Meizhou Island, featuring new developments in maritime risk mitigation and weather alert technology.

The forum served as a venue for unveiling a comprehensive report on national maritime risk mitigation and the release of the MaCOM 2.0 model, designed to advance disaster prevention technologies. A significant operational milestone occurred during the event with the formal handover of a smart meteorological early warning unit, part of the MAZU system, to Sri Lanka.
Participants adopted the Meizhou Declaration, which outlines a consensus on the values associated with Mazu culture. The proceedings included ten distinct sub-forums covering topics such as marine economics, rural revitalization, mangrove ecology, and international cultural exchanges, including specific dialogues between China and Brazil.
Connecting participants globally, 13 satellite venues were established across several continents. Mazu culture, originating from Meizhou Island, currently reaches approximately 300 million people across 52 countries and regions. Since its inception in 2016, the annual forum has focused on integrating cultural preservation with tourism and international cooperation.
