17 Endpoint Security Solutions for Windows Tested
Cybersecurity firm AV-TEST has evaluated 17 endpoint security solutions for Windows operating systems used by businesses. The tests focused on detection rates, performance impact, and usability.

Cybersecurity firm AV-TEST has completed a comprehensive evaluation of 17 endpoint security solutions designed for business users running Windows. The tests, conducted in January and February 2023 using Windows 10, assessed products on their protection capabilities, performance impact on systems, and usability, with a specific focus on minimizing false alarms.
The laboratory assessed each product across three core categories: protection, performance, and usability. The protection aspect was further divided into a real-world test, challenging the solutions against zero-day malware samples, and a reference set test, which involved detecting and blocking nearly 12,000 known malware samples.
Overall, the results indicated a high level of security effectiveness. A total of 14 out of the 17 solutions received the "TOP PRODUCT" recognition. Seven solutions achieved the maximum possible score, with an additional seven scoring very close to the maximum. The lowest-scoring product still achieved a strong result of 17 out of 18 points.
In terms of detection, 11 of the tested endpoint solutions successfully blocked 100% of the malware samples in the reference set test. These high-performing products included solutions from manufacturers such as Bitdefender, Kaspersky, and Microsoft. While minor performance issues or detection hiccups were noted for a few products in specific scenarios, the general outcome demonstrates robust defense mechanisms across the evaluated security software.
