1Password integrates with Claude AI for automated password management
Password manager 1Password has launched an integration with Anthropic's Claude AI chatbot. The new feature, 1Password for Claude, allows the AI to access stored credentials with user authorization.

Password management tool 1Password has released a new integration enabling its use with Anthropic's Claude AI chatbot. The feature, named 1Password for Claude, permits the artificial intelligence to access user-stored login credentials and automatically complete multi-step tasks upon user authorization.
The integration allows Claude AI to handle tasks such as booking travel or managing online accounts without requiring manual password entry from the user. Access is granted on a per-task basis, with each request requiring explicit user approval. The AI receives necessary credentials through a secure channel, but cannot view the passwords themselves or access one-time authentication codes.
1Password states the feature operates under a "zero exposure security framework." Credentials are injected into specific tasks securely, and Claude agents can utilize this information without direct visibility of the passwords or MFA codes. The system performs a scan after each autofill to ensure no sensitive data is exposed before returning control.
1Password for Claude is currently available for Mac users across 1Password's business, family, and personal plans. Use of the feature requires both the 1Password desktop application and browser extension, as well as the Claude desktop application and its browser extension.
