200 Experts Warn Business Leaders on Rapid AI Development
A coalition of Nobel laureates and tech executives has issued a warning to business leaders regarding the swift impact of artificial intelligence and urges immediate strategic action.

Over 200 experts, including 15 Nobel laureates and leaders from companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, have released a joint statement urging business leaders to address the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI).
The statement, titled "We Must Act Now," highlights that AI is poised to drive an economic transformation surpassing the scale of the Industrial Revolution, but within a significantly compressed timeframe.
Key figures from the AI field, such as OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar, Google DeepMind Chief Scientist Jeff Dean, and Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark, have lent their names to the call for action. They are joined by economists and Nobel laureates including Michael Spence, Daron Acemoglu, and Simon Johnson.
These experts emphasize that previous technological shifts, like steam, electricity, and computers, allowed societies decades to adapt. However, the current AI transition may offer only a few years. Researcher Anton Korinek noted that improvising strategies and institutions mid-transformation is not feasible, and waiting for certainty means arriving too late.
