2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Sees Updates to Charging and Features
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 received a 2025 lifecycle refresh, including a switch to a NACS charging port and the addition of a rear windshield wiper. The 2026 model year has been reviewed.
Hyundai introduced a lifecycle refresh for its Ioniq 5 electric vehicle for the 2025 model year, incorporating significant updates. A key change is the adoption of the NACS (J3400) charging port, replacing the previous CCS1. Additionally, the updated model now includes a rear windshield wiper.
Initially launched in late 2021, the Ioniq 5 distinguished itself with its 800 V architecture, enabling rapid charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. Its distinctive retro-futuristic design also garnered attention.
The 2026 Ioniq 5 AWD Limited, equipped with an 84 kWh battery pack, starts at $45,075. Adding the front electric motor for all-wheel drive increases the combined output to 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque. This AWD configuration offers an EPA-estimated range of 269 miles, compared to 318 miles for the rear-wheel drive variant.
The updates aim to keep the Ioniq 5 competitive in a rapidly evolving electric crossover market, facing increased competition since its initial debut.
