Among the top-performing films for the summer season are "Kung Fu Football," "The Eight Immortals!," and "Spider-Man: A New Day." Several domestic films, such as "Island of the Unwanted" and "The Mountains and the Water," were released in August. Imported films, including the horror-thriller "Get Out," are also scheduled for release.
Additionally, the Hollywood production "Odyssey," entirely shot with IMAX film cameras, is a major release for the 2026 summer season and is expected to contribute significantly to ticket sales.
For the full year 2026, total box office revenue has surpassed 25 billion yuan. The summer season alone recorded 34 consecutive days with daily box office receipts exceeding 100 million yuan, with over 630 million admissions and more than 93.7 million screenings.
