Munich – A prototype of the forthcoming 2027 BMW i3 Touring wagon has been observed during testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany. The vehicle, built on BMW's new Neue Klasse platform, exhibits production-ready features despite camouflage on its front, rear, and mirrors.

The car is anticipated to feature BMW's sixth-generation electric powertrain technology. The tested vehicle is reportedly a 50 xDrive variant, equipped with two electric motors producing a combined output of 463 horsepower. It is also expected to have a 108.7 kWh battery pack, projecting a WLTP-estimated range of approximately 885 kilometers on a full charge.

Regarding charging capabilities, the new wagon is expected to support a maximum DC fast charging rate of 400 kW, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes. The vehicle will also feature 22 kW AC charging support for enhanced home charging efficiency.

During its tests, the prototype completed a lap in under eight minutes, despite it being its initial run on the Nürburgring. Further performance evaluations are expected to take place before the vehicle's official market introduction.
