Chinese automaker 212 has completed the registration process for its new X03 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), as detailed in the latest product announcement from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The vehicle maintains the boxy, rugged styling characteristic of the manufacturer’s previous diesel-powered X03 variant.

Built on a non-load-bearing chassis, the SUV measures 5095 mm in length and features a 2950 mm wheelbase. The powertrain integrates a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor capable of 160 kW peak power. The vehicle is equipped with a ternary lithium battery supplied by CATL, supporting plug-in charging capabilities.

Optional equipment for the vehicle includes roof-mounted LiDAR, various wheel designs, and a towing hitch capable of handling up to 2500 kg of trailer weight. The addition of a hybrid powertrain reflects the company's move to modernize its off-road product line while maintaining the mechanical specifications required for off-road operations.
