3D-Printed Alarm Clock Challenges Users to Escape Sleep
Endothermal Systems has released the CinderClock, a 3D-printed alarm clock that utilizes game mechanics to make waking up more challenging without smartphone distractions.

A new alarm clock, the CinderClock, challenges users to wake up using an arcade-style snooze button and increasing difficulties for the snooze function. The device was designed by technology company Endothermal Systems.
The clock features a large, red arcade-style button for easy snooze activation. However, on subsequent alarms, users must complete more complex tasks, such as pressing the button multiple times in a specific rhythm or winning a mini-game displayed on the clock's front screen.
Aknazar Arysbek, founder of Endothermal Systems, stated that he uses the clock daily himself and has stopped using his smartphone as an alarm. He believes this unloads the brain by avoiding screen time before bed and immediately upon waking.
The CinderClock is designed as a standalone device without internet connectivity to avoid the distractions and notifications often associated with smartphones. The design emphasizes mechanical, tactile, and modular components that are easily repairable and replaceable.
The company plans to develop other home electronics in the future, such as lamps and e-readers, that are high-quality, affordable, and built to last.
