3D Printer Manufacturer TUZHU to Launch R1 Laser Engraver

Chinese 3D printing technology firm TUZHU (拓竹) has announced the upcoming release of its R1 laser engraver, scheduled for September 22. This move signals the company's strategic diversification into the laser engraving and cutting equipment sector. TUZHU, known for its strong presence in the consumer 3D printer market, is venturing into laser engraving technology. The company had previously hinted at its laser product R1 in August, describing it as a UV printer capable of full-color digital printing on various materials such as T-shirts, glass, metal, and leather, with potential for some 3D relief effects, though primarily leaning towards 2D printing. The company has established itself as a leader in China's consumer 3D printer market, surpassing one million cumulative unit sales approximately four years after its first product launch. High user engagement, with over 30,000 users reporting over seven hours of daily printer operation, indicates a strong market for TUZHU's offerings. The R1 laser engraver launch is positioned as a step to broaden TUZHU's product portfolio beyond 3D printers, aiming to cater to a wider range of creative and manufacturing needs for consumers and small businesses.
