40 Companies Reached Unicorn Status in July, Highest Count in Four Years
July saw 40 startups achieve unicorn status, the highest monthly total in over four years. This surge significantly outpaced previous years' figures.

A total of 40 companies reached unicorn status in July, marking the highest monthly count in more than four years. Three of these companies achieved valuations exceeding $10 billion.
The leading sectors for new unicorns included financial services, robotics, AI orchestration, multimodal AI, energy, and the semiconductor industry. In the past two months, the market has seen new unicorns add over $100 billion in value each month.
The United States led with 19 new unicorns, followed by China with eight. The United Kingdom contributed three, and Singapore had two. Additional companies from Lithuania, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Australia, India, Israel, and Hong Kong also attained unicorn status.
In the first half of 2024, a total of 195 companies achieved unicorn status, already surpassing the entire previous year's total. This accelerated growth highlights significant investment activity and innovation within the technology sector.
