500 Berkeley County Students to Grow Their Own Food Through New STEM Initiative

Hundreds of students in Berkeley County will begin growing their own food through a new science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) initiative. The program, a collaboration between the Martinsburg Roundhouse, a National Historic Landmark, and the For The Kids, by George Children's Museum, aims to connect youth with the origins of their food and promote sustainable practices.
In the initial phase, students will be provided with garden kits containing seeds, soil, and growing containers. They will be guided through the entire process using traditional gardening techniques.
