5th Changsha Tourism Development Conference Opens in Hunan

The 5th Changsha Tourism Development Conference opened on September 29 in Changsha County, Changsha City, the capital of China's Hunan Province. The conference aims to enhance Changsha's position as an attractive tourist destination, particularly for short "micro-vacations."

The event featured a diverse range of tourism products, including "red" cultural tours, ecological wellness tourism, rural leisure, intelligent manufacturing, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. Changsha County is focused on developing the region through integrated, high-quality tourism development, emphasizing local culture, green values, industry, and openness.

Several unique tourist routes have been established, connecting destinations like Bancang Resort and Dashali Rural Community, which blend culture with tourism experiences. Six parallel sub-forums were also held during the conference to foster tourism consumption.

Changsha has hosted the tourism development conference for five consecutive years, significantly boosting tourism development and consumption. By 2025, both tourist arrivals and total tourism spending in Changsha doubled compared to 2021. Spending by foreign tourists saw a year-on-year increase of over 40% in 2025.
