5th Changsha Tourism Development Conference Opens in Hunan

Changsha, Hunan – The fifth Changsha Tourism Development Conference commenced on September 29 in Changsha County, the capital of China's Hunan Province. The conference aims to promote the city's tourism landscape and attract visitors for shorter holiday trips.
The event highlighted a variety of tourism experiences, focusing on red culture, ecological wellness, rural leisure, intelligent manufacturing, and convention and exhibition tourism. Changsha County is developing new tourism models by integrating these themes.
The region features several unique tourism routes connecting diverse destinations, including Bancang Resort, Dashali village community, and red tourism resources at Chen Shuxiang. Industrial tourism sites at GAC Aion and Minghe Industrial Park were also showcased. Six themed side events were organized during the conference to boost tourism consumption.
Changsha has hosted this tourism development conference for five consecutive years, leading to significant growth in the city's tourism sector and related spending. In 2025, both tourist arrivals and total tourism spending in Changsha doubled compared to 2021. Spending by inbound tourists increased by over 40 percent year-on-year.
