78% of U.S. Homebuyers Now Use AI in Housing Search

A significant majority of U.S. homebuyers are leveraging artificial intelligence tools throughout the process of purchasing a home, according to a new survey of real estate agents conducted by Zoodealio-ResiClub.

The survey, which polled over 200 real estate agents, found that 78% reported their clients have used AI at least occasionally within the past year. These tools have been employed to research pricing, listings, and various aspects of the transaction.

Clients most commonly use AI for researching neighborhoods, schools, or comparable sales (53%), followed by interpreting contracts or disclosures (42%). Some agents reported clients using AI to challenge pricing or their own commission fees.

Real estate agents themselves are also adopting AI into their practices. Ninety percent of surveyed agents stated they use AI in their business, primarily for writing listing descriptions or marketing copy (72%), generating pricing insights or market analysis (49%), and client communication (46%).

Despite the widespread adoption of AI, the broader outlook for the housing market remains cautious. The survey indicated a cooling buyer demand and increased seller urgency in many markets, with agent optimism for the next 12 months falling to 48%.
