7Artisans Releases 17mm F1.8 Air Lens for Nikon Z Mount

Camera lens manufacturer 7Artisans (铭匠) began sales today for its AF 17mm F1.8 Air APS-C lens, specifically for the Nikon Z mount. The lens is priced at 829 yuan.

The lens is designed for APS-C sensors, offering a 17mm focal length which provides a 25.5mm equivalent field of view on a full-frame camera. It features an 81-degree angle of view. The optical construction consists of 14 elements arranged in 10 groups, including two Extra-low Dispersion (ED) elements and three high refractive index elements. The minimum focusing distance is 0.18 meters.

Autofocus is handled by a combination of an STM (Stepping Motor) and a lead screw-type motor. The lens barrel is constructed from 5052 aircraft-grade aluminum and accepts 52mm filters. It weighs between 161 and 178 grams, depending on the mount version, with E, X, and Z mount options available. The lens also features a Type-C port for firmware updates via the rear cap.

This release expands 7Artisans' offerings for photographers utilizing Nikon's mirrorless camera system.
