WASHINGTON – The 80-20 Educational Foundation and Stand with Asian Americans (SwAA) are scheduled to testify at a public hearing hosted by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) on August 11, 2026. The hearing will address a proposed rule to remove reporting requirements for EEO-1 through EEO-6 filings.
Both organizations intend to argue that the data collected through these reports is critical for identifying and addressing disparities faced by Asian Americans in the workplace, a phenomenon often referred to as the "bamboo ceiling." They believe that removing these reporting mandates would hinder efforts to promote career advancement and ensure equal opportunities.
