81% of Inventory Management Professionals Want AI, Only 11% Use It

A significant gap exists between the desire for artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and its actual implementation within the inventory management sector. A survey of 400 professionals in warehouse and operations, validated by close to 4,000 customer interactions recorded in inFlow Inventory software, found that 81 percent of respondents wish to incorporate AI into their workflows.

However, only 11 percent of these professionals have currently implemented AI technology. This disparity highlights the practical challenges businesses face when integrating new technologies, potentially due to cost, integration complexities, or a lack of expertise.

The survey indicates that AI is expected to significantly impact predictive analytics, automation, and resource optimization in inventory management. The majority of professionals believe AI can lead to improved accuracy, reduced errors, and enhanced operational efficiency. Achieving these benefits, however, requires strategic investment and training.

Industry observers note that while the potential for AI in inventory management is substantial, successful adoption necessitates careful planning to overcome potential hurdles such as data management and system compatibility, which may slow broader utilization.
