83 Ugandan innovators selected for government entrepreneurship training
Eighty-three Ugandan innovators have been selected for the fourth batch of the Entrepreneurship Training and Mentorship (ETM) Programme at Uganda's National ICT Innovation Hub.
A total of 83 Ugandan innovators have been chosen for the fourth iteration of the Entrepreneurship Training and Mentorship (ETM) Programme. The initiative, held at the National ICT Innovation Hub, aims to guide participants in developing their ideas into sustainable businesses.
The program operates under the UJ-Connect project, a collaborative effort between the Governments of Uganda and Japan, facilitated by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Delivery is managed in partnership with the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) and the National ICT Innovation Hub.
The selected 83 participants will receive practical training in entrepreneurship, mentorship, business development support, and international exposure. These resources are intended to help them refine their concepts, secure intellectual property rights, access new markets, and prepare their ventures for investment.
Dr. Frederick Kitoogo, principal of UICT, stated that the program represents an investment in Uganda's future by providing young innovators with the skills, networks, and opportunities needed to build successful enterprises. He added that equipping innovators directly contributes to a thriving economy.
