AAEON Releases Fanless Mini PC with Frore Systems' AirJet Cooling

Technology firm AAEON announced the release of its UP Xtreme PTL Edge Air mini PC, built with Intel's "Panther Lake" processors. A key feature is its adoption of Frore Systems' AirJet ultrasonic membrane technology for active cooling, eliminating the need for conventional fans. This approach allows for a significantly smaller and lighter device compared to its fan-cooled predecessors.

The new mini PC is 35% thinner and 43% lighter than fan-equipped models, though its operating temperature range is narrowed to -10 to +45 degrees Celsius. With a thickness of just 35.8mm, the UP Xtreme PTL Edge Air is designed for space-constrained applications, such as ultra-thin self-service kiosks, low-profile AMR chassis, and compact mobile medical units. The fanless design also minimizes vibration and noise, with reported sound levels below 21 decibels.

Users can select from Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, Ultra 7 356, or Ultra 5 325 processors. The device offers extensive connectivity, including two M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD slots, a slot for a wireless module, two USB-C 40Gbps ports, two 2.5GbE RJ-45 ports, two serial ports, and a 40-pin GPIO header.

Frore Systems' AirJet technology provides active cooling without moving parts, enhancing reliability and enabling more compact designs without sacrificing performance. AAEON's new offering expands its portfolio with solutions suited for industrial automation and other demanding environments where space and noise are critical factors.
