AAX Biotech and Daiichi Sankyo Advance Collaboration on Opti-mAb® Technology

Swedish biotechnology firm AAX Biotech AB has advanced its research and development collaboration with Japanese pharmaceutical company Daiichi Sankyo into a new phase. The announcement on August 31, 2026, confirms that the companies will now explore AAX Biotech's proprietary Opti-mAb® technology as part of an antibody program.

The collaboration, initially announced in October 2025, focused on evaluating the Opti-mAb® technology. This technology is designed to stabilize single-chain variable fragment (scFv) antibodies. Following the initial assessment, the companies have agreed to move forward and investigate the technology's potential for next-generation antibody therapeutics.

AAX Biotech specializes in developing innovative technologies aimed at accelerating the development of antibody-based medicines. Its technological offerings also include Seqitope®, which enables high-resolution epitope mapping. The continuation of this collaboration represents a significant milestone for AAX Biotech and reinforces its strategy of partnering with pharmaceutical companies.

The collaboration remains in the research stage, and no conclusions have been reached regarding the future development, commercialization, or clinical application of any resulting products. AAX Biotech stated it looks forward to continuing to explore new opportunities with Daiichi Sankyo.
