AAX Biotech and Daiichi Sankyo to Evaluate Antibody Technology

Swedish biotechnology firm AAX Biotech AB has announced a collaboration with Japanese pharmaceutical company Daiichi Sankyo. The agreement will involve Daiichi Sankyo evaluating AAX's proprietary Opti-mAb® technology for its potential in developing next-generation antibody therapeutics.

Under the collaboration, Daiichi Sankyo's research institute in Munich will assess the capabilities of the Opti-mAb® platform. This technology is designed to stabilize single-chain variable fragment (scFv) antibodies, which are inherently unstable, aiming to improve the efficacy and developability of antibody-based medicines.

The partnership marks a significant milestone for AAX Biotech, highlighting the potential of its technology in a competitive field. Daiichi Sankyo is recognized as a global leader, particularly in the development of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).

AAX Biotech also offers its Seqitope® platform for epitope mapping. The Stockholm-based company was founded by experts from the Karolinska Institutet.
