AAX Biotech and Karolinska Institutet Collaborate on Novel Cancer Antibody Characterization

Biotechnology company AAX Biotech has announced a collaboration with a research group at Karolinska Institutet to characterize novel TROP2-targeting antibodies. The aim is to identify the molecular features that differentiate these antibodies from existing TROP2 binders.

The collaboration will utilize AAX Biotech's Seqitope® platform and automation infrastructure to evaluate antibodies developed by Dr. Thuy Tran's group. TROP2 is a validated cancer target, but characterizing therapies directed against it has been challenging due to its complex nature.

The Seqitope® platform allows for the analysis of up to 100 antibodies in parallel, enabling both detailed candidate analysis and broader panel screening. This insight is critical for identifying antibodies with therapeutic potential.

AAX Biotech CEO Daniel X Johansson highlighted that the platform allows for the comparison of large antibody panels and the characterization of their molecular binding profiles. Dr. Thuy Tran added that the collaboration seeks to elucidate the molecular differences essential for advancing the antibodies towards therapeutic applications.
