AAX Biotech Appoints Two New Board Members

AAX Biotech, a Swedish biotechnology company developing next-generation antibody therapeutics, has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors: Svante Almkvist and Emmelie Persson.

The company's strategic expansion is bolstered by these appointments, which are intended to accelerate growth and enhance technological advancements. Almkvist brings executive experience in the manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals, while Persson, a PhD, offers leadership expertise in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on medical affairs and market access. Their combined skills are expected to strengthen AAX Biotech's position in the global market.

AAX Biotech utilizes proprietary technologies, Seqitope™ and Opti-mAb™, designed to improve the performance and developability of antibody-based therapeutics. These technologies enable high-throughput epitope mapping and stabilization of single-chain variable fragments (scFv), applicable to bispecific antibodies and CAR-T cells.

"These appointments mark a significant milestone for AAX Biotech and are anticipated to play a vital role in the company’s growth and the development of our cutting-edge technologies," stated CEO Maria Lisa Knudsen. The company, founded by experts from Karolinska Institutet, aims to address unmet needs in the rapidly growing antibody therapeutics market.
