AB Science Publishes Study on Masitinib Benefit in ALS
AB Science has released a pre-print study highlighting the clinical benefit of masitinib in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients prior to any complete loss of function. The results suggest the drug may slow disease progression.

AB Science, a pharmaceutical company focused on drug development, has announced a new publication concerning the use of masitinib in the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The pre-print study, available on the MedRxiv platform, focuses on the clinical benefits of masitinib in patients whose disease has not yet progressed to a complete loss of function.
According to the study, masitinib demonstrated promising results in slowing the progression of the disease. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects nerve cells controlling voluntary muscles. As the disease advances, patients gradually lose the ability to move, speak, swallow, and eventually breathe.
AB Science has previously investigated masitinib in several clinical trials for various conditions, including other neurodegenerative disorders. The company aims to develop masitinib as a treatment option for diseases with limited or no effective therapeutic alternatives.
The findings from this publication offer further insights into the potential role of masitinib in managing ALS. AB Science continues its research and development efforts to validate the drug's clinical advantages and advance potential future therapeutic approaches.
