Abacum, an AI-native financial planning and analysis platform, has launched Modeler, an AI agent aimed at making expert-level modeling accessible to all finance teams. This new tool allows for the creation of real-time business models in minutes through simple natural language descriptions or existing spreadsheets.
The agent transforms initial inputs into fully functional models ready for execution. Traditionally, building and maintaining such models could take days or weeks. Modeler aims to drastically reduce this time, enabling finance professionals to dedicate more resources to analysis, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making.
Modeler addresses a common bottleneck in finance departments where complex models are often maintained by a few individuals, posing a risk to institutional knowledge. The AI agent automatically constructs model structures and logic based on a company's real-time data. Before finalization, Modeler presents its proposed logic for review and adjustment via natural language.
Julio Martínez, co-founder and CEO of Abacum, stated that Modeler is designed to augment human expertise, not replace it. "The agent handles the building, Abacum's engine does the calculations, and the finance department approves every model," Martínez explained.
