Abbott's Q2 Earnings Beat Expectations, Company Raises Full-Year Guidance
Abbott Laboratories reported second-quarter results with sales and earnings per share exceeding analyst expectations. The company has raised its full-year financial guidance.

Chicago, IL – Abbott Laboratories announced its second-quarter 2026 earnings, reporting sales of $12.6 billion and adjusted diluted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.53, both surpassing market expectations.
The company reaffirmed its comparable sales growth guidance for the full year 2026 at 6.5% to 7.5% and raised its adjusted diluted EPS guidance to $5.45 to $5.60, up from a previous range of $5.38 to $5.58. Chairman and CEO Robert Ford described the results as a significant building block for the second half of the year, anticipating accelerating growth driven by the company's portfolio.
The Medical Devices segment demonstrated strength, particularly in Electrophysiology, aided by the U.S. launch of the Volt® Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) System and its international rollout. Cancer Diagnostics sales grew 13.3%, supported by increased usage of Cologuard® tests and the American Cancer Society's endorsement as a preferred screening method.
Strong demand for diagnostic testing was reflected in the Core Laboratory business's 7.5% growth in the U.S. and stable performance in Latin America. The company's Established Pharmaceuticals (EPD) business also saw growth of 8.7%, underscoring the importance of global healthcare and emerging market potential.
Abbott anticipates its product pipeline will support growth in the second half of the year and beyond. Over the next 12 months, the company expects new product launches and market dynamics to contribute to its financial performance.
