ABDA Fact Sheet Reviews Pharmacists' Roles in Europe
The German Pharmacists Association (ABDA) has released an updated fact sheet detailing the organization and roles of pharmacies across EU member states.

The German Pharmacists Association (ABDA) has published an updated fact sheet titled "Apotheke und Europa" (Pharmacy and Europe). This publication provides a comprehensive overview of how pharmacy services are organized in EU member states.
The fact sheet examines aspects such as pharmacy ownership regulations, rules concerning the mail-order business for medicines, and additional tasks pharmacies undertake beyond dispensing medication. It also offers a comparison of the German pharmacy landscape against other European countries.
Furthermore, the document sheds light on the European advocacy efforts of the pharmacy sector, including the work of ABDA's EU office in Brussels and the European Association of Pharmacists (PGEU). Mathias Arnold, former Vice President of ABDA, was elected President of PGEU for 2027.
ABDA's statistical yearbook for 2026 also includes data on pharmacy services across Europe, such as vaccinations, with a focus on integration and migration-related aspects.
