ABDA Launches Covid-19 Medicine Portal
The Baden-Württemberg Pharmacists' Association has launched a web portal to track the availability of Covid-19 relevant medicines. The portal helps pharmacies quickly identify where needed drugs are stocked and can be ordered.

The Baden-Württemberg Pharmacists' Association (ABDA), in collaboration with the state Ministry of Social Affairs, has established a new web portal to ensure the continued supply of medicines relevant to Covid-19.
The portal, which went live on April 24, 2020, will assist public and hospital pharmacies in quickly identifying other pharmacies within the state that have specific, urgently needed medications in stock. This facilitates ordering and delivery to patients.
"I am pleased that the portal was launched quickly," said Health Minister Manne Lucha. "It has become apparent that in the current situation, a significant demand arises for certain life-saving medicines, particularly in intensive care, which varies considerably by region based on the spread of the virus."
ABDA emphasized the vital role of local pharmacies in serving the public. "Pharmacies are competent, fast, and above all, one of the first points of contact for people right now. Ensuring the drug supply for the population is the priority for hospital and local pharmacies. With this web portal, the State Pharmacists' Association of Baden-Württemberg has taken steps to maintain this," stated Dr. Karsten Diers, Managing Director of the State Pharmacists' Association.
The portal initially lists active ingredients such as Sufentanil, Fentanyl, Ketamine, Morphine, Oxycodone, and Propofol, which are used in intensive care and anesthesia.
