ABDA launches What’s Apo platform to track federal election health policy
The German pharmacists' association ABDA has launched a digital platform to document federal election candidates' stances on key health policy issues.

The German pharmacists' association (ABDA) has introduced 'What's Apo', a digital information hub designed to provide transparency regarding federal election candidates' positions on health policy. The platform specifically addresses concerns such as the declining number of pharmacies in Germany and persistent issues with medication supply shortages.
Since the project's inception, approximately 280 candidates have contributed written statements or video messages to the platform. ABDA officials noted that the site was designed and deployed rapidly to adapt to the compressed timeline of the current election campaign.
ABDA aims to increase engagement by prioritizing video content and incentivizing social media dissemination. High-profile politicians from various political parties are participating, with the organization reporting significant reach as both the candidates and the association utilize social channels to amplify the shared policy statements.
