ABDA Redesigns AMK Website
ABDA has launched a redesigned website for its Arzneimittelkommission (AMK), the German pharmacists' drug commission. The revamp aims to improve user experience and accessibility of drug safety information.
ABDA, the umbrella organization of German pharmacists, has unveiled a redesigned website for its Arzneimittelkommission (AMK). The update focuses on enhancing navigation and providing users with easier access to critical drug safety information.
The website, accessible at www.arzneimittelkommission.de and www.abda.de, now features a more streamlined structure. Users can locate AMK content by navigating through the main ABDA site under "Topics" -> "Drug Safety" -> "AMK" or "Members" -> "AMK". Access to certain comprehensive content remains restricted to a logged-in member area, with login credentials published in the print edition of Pharmazeutische Zeitung.
Core functionalities remain operational, including online reporting of adverse drug reactions (UAW) and quality defects, as well as the option to download report forms in PDF format. A new feature allows users to subscribe to AMK news updates via an RSS feed. This feed specifically includes news from the "Information from Institutions and Authorities" and "Information from Manufacturers" sections, making them available outside the member-protected area.
Information regarding drug recalls and batch checks will continue to be exclusively published within the member-protected area and in the print editions of Pharmazeutische Zeitung and Deutsche Apotheker Zeitung. The redesign also introduces an improved search function, enabling users to narrow down searches to AMK news content only. ABDA has noted that the website redesign process is not yet fully complete in all aspects.
