Accolade Healthcare of Waterloo Partners with VA for Veteran Care Access
Accolade Healthcare of Waterloo has entered into a Veterans Care Agreement (VCA) with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), expanding local access to skilled nursing care for veterans.

Accolade Healthcare of Waterloo has announced it is now in-network with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through a Veterans Care Agreement (VCA). This partnership aims to increase access to skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for veterans in the Waterloo community and surrounding areas.
The agreement allows local veterans to receive care closer to home, facilitating better connections with family and support systems. Accolade Healthcare of Waterloo will offer short-term rehabilitation placements through the United Healthcare Veteran Affairs Community Care Network (VACCN) and comprehensive placement options, including short-term, long-term, respite, and hospice care, through the VCA.
According to Accolade Healthcare, the process will be streamlined to assist veterans with eligibility verification, referral coordination, and transitions from hospital to skilled nursing care. The company stated that its experienced team will collaborate with VA care teams and social workers to ensure continuity of care. Accolade Healthcare of Waterloo joins Accolade Healthcare of Danville and Accolade Healthcare of Peoria, which also hold VCA contracts.
Accolade Healthcare, established in 2017, operates seven skilled nursing facilities across Illinois. The company highlighted its commitment to serving veterans and invited community members to visit its new "Honor Wall." Veterans and families seeking more information are encouraged to contact the facility via email.
