Accurate Background Acquires Australian Provider VerifyNow

Irvine, CA – Accurate Background LLC, a provider of employment background checks, drug and health screening, and monitoring solutions, has acquired VerifyNow Pty Ltd, an employment screening provider based in Australia. The acquisition is intended to complement Accurate's global strategy and expand its portfolio of international, compliance-driven employment screening services.

VerifyNow will continue to operate under the leadership of Khai Ngo, who will also join Accurate Background's senior leadership team. Accurate Background CEO Tim Dowd stated that the companies have partnered for several years and that this acquisition deepens their relationship to better serve clients' background screening needs in Australia and beyond.

The deal further expands Accurate Background's global business footprint, following its acquisition of Vero Screening in July 2022. Accurate Background gains a new office in Australia, where the VerifyNow team will continue to serve existing clients while also supporting Accurate Background's multinational clientele. Aaron Hayes has been promoted to General Manager and EVP, International, overseeing Accurate Background's EMEA and APAC regions.

Khai Ngo, CEO of VerifyNow, indicated that customers and employees will benefit from expanded services and capabilities in Australia and New Zealand, as well as enhanced screening options for multinational clients via the Accurate platform. Aaron Hayes added that the growing need for global hiring pools makes international employment screening increasingly important.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Gilbert + Tobin represented Accurate Background, while MV Law represented the sellers of VerifyNow. Accurate Background aims to empower companies to make informed, unbiased hiring decisions with confidence and speed.
