Accuray and Samsung NeuroLogica Deepen Volumetric Imaging Collaboration for Radiotherapy

Accuray Incorporated announced it has entered into agreements with Samsung NeuroLogica Corp. to pursue advanced volumetric imaging capabilities for its CyberKnife radiotherapy system. The companies highlighted their collaboration at the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Annual Meeting in Boston.

Accuray customers have consistently identified improved imaging capabilities as a priority for enhancing treatment efficiency and decision-making. This collaboration will combine Samsung NeuroLogica's expertise in mobile computed tomography (CT) and volumetric imaging with Accuray's proficiency in precision treatment delivery, robotic radiosurgery, and motion management.

Accuray President and CEO Steve La Neve stated that the partnership reflects the company's strategy of addressing customer priorities through targeted collaborations that leverage complementary expertise. The aim is to accelerate the delivery of meaningful innovation to customers.

Clinicians have emphasized the potential of volumetric imaging to improve visualization of patient anatomy within the treatment environment and support future clinical workflows. The collaboration intends to bring additional imaging information closer to treatment decision-making while maintaining the regulatory rigor required in radiation oncology.

The partnership is part of Accuray's broader strategy to accelerate innovation and product development through a deliberate combination of internally developed technologies and strategic alliances.
