ACHP Member Companies Achieve High Quality Ratings Across Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Plans
The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) member companies have again earned high marks for quality in the latest Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial health plan ratings.

Companies affiliated with the Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) have once more achieved significant recognition for their quality across Medicare, Medicaid, and the commercial insurance markets. Recent Medicare Advantage Star Ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Health Plan Ratings underscore the effectiveness of ACHP member plans' approach to healthcare coverage and delivery.
In the Medicare Advantage ratings, ACHP member plans averaged 4.23 stars, surpassing the 3.96 average for non-ACHP carriers. These plans demonstrated particular strength in managing cholesterol and diabetes, early detection of kidney disease, and reducing complications from chronic conditions. Over 87 percent of enrollees in ACHP member contracts were in plans rated at least 4 stars, compared to approximately 69 percent in plans not affiliated with ACHP.
Two ACHP members, Peak Health and Kaiser Permanente, received the highest possible rating of five stars from CMS for 2027. This follows a strong performance in the NCQA 2026 Health Plan Ratings, where five ACHP member companies secured 13 out of the nation's 18 five-star awards. ACHP members also received higher average ratings across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial coverage, highlighting the breadth of quality within the organization's nonprofit, community-focused model.
Specifically, in commercial coverage, ACHP members averaged 4.18 compared to 3.45 for others. For Medicaid, the average was 4.08 versus 3.50, and for Medicare, it was 3.96 compared to 3.35. ACHP-affiliated plans outperformed their peers on 92% of commercial measures, 85% of Medicaid measures, and 93% of Medicare measures evaluated.
