Achyuta Samanta Receives Romanian Honorary Citizenship and International Awards
Indian educator Achyuta Samanta has been awarded honorary citizenship by the Romanian city of Milișăuți and the key to the city of Bârlad. He also received multiple other international recognitions.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, an educator and social reformer from India and founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, was granted honorary citizenship by the Romanian city of Milișăuți on September 21, 2026. The award recognizes his contributions to education, social development, and humanitarian service.
Samanta also received the key to the city of Bârlad during a visit accompanied by the Indian Ambassador to Romania, Manoj Kumar Mohapatra. He is reportedly the first individual from the Odia region to receive such civic honors from two Romanian municipalities.
Further international accolades include Samanta being named "Leader of the Year" at the CEEMAN Champions Awards 2026 for his work in education and social development. This award was presented at the 34th Annual CEEMAN Conference in Romania. CEEMAN is an international association focused on management development.
Samanta was also honored with a FIDE award for education at a chess summit in Uzbekistan. Additionally, he received four distinctions in Kosovo, including an honorary professorship from AAB University and the Mother Teresa Award, during the 45th World Congress of Poets.
