ACR Electronics ELT 5000 Reaches One Million Flight Hours
The ARTEX ELT 5000 emergency locator transmitter platform has achieved an estimated one million flight hours, ACR Electronics announced. The technology has seen broad adoption across Boeing aircraft families since its entry into service.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – ACR Electronics announced that its ARTEX ELT 5000 emergency locator transmitter (ELT) platform has surpassed an estimated one million flight hours. This milestone comes approximately one year after the technology entered service on commercial aircraft, primarily Boeing models.
The estimate, derived from Boeing delivery data, fleet deployments, and aircraft utilization rates, indicates the platform's performance in global aviation safety. The one-million-hour mark was reportedly reached within the first year after the initial ELT 5000-equipped Boeing 737 entered revenue service in May 2025. Deployments have since expanded to include Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft families, alongside retrofit programs.
ACR Electronics states that ELT 5000-equipped aircraft are now operating on every inhabited continent, accumulating roughly 7,500 flight hours daily. This equates to approximately 2,500 to 3,000 departures per day, meaning a GADSS-compliant aircraft takes off somewhere in the world roughly every 30 to 40 seconds.

He added that accumulating over one million estimated flight hours demonstrates broad market adoption and the product’s proven performance.
