Active Aging Week 2026 aims to engage over one million participants globally
The International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) has announced Active Aging Week 2026, scheduled for October 5-11, will bring together over 5,000 organizations and one million participants worldwide.

VANCOUVER, BC, September 23, 2026 โ The International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) announced today the return of Active Aging Week, October 5โ11, 2026. The global campaign challenges outdated perceptions of aging and promotes a vision of growing older defined by health, connection, purpose, and possibility.
Presented by Humana, the event is expected to engage over 5,000 organizations and host more than 20,000 activities, reaching over one million participants globally. Participating entities include senior living communities, senior centers, health and fitness organizations, and municipal departments.
Throughout the week, organizations will offer opportunities to experience various dimensions of wellness. Activities planned include fitness classes, health screenings, educational workshops, arts and cultural programs, and social events.
"Active Aging Week is about changing what people believe is possible as we age," said Colin Milner, CEO and Founder of ICAA. "When more than one million people come together to move, learn, connect, contribute, and celebrate, we send a powerful message. Older adults are not defined by age or limitations; they are active participants in their communities, capable of continued growth and living with purpose."
The campaign also aims to introduce individuals to new programs and activities, encouraging them to discover new ways to support their health and well-being by removing barriers and creating inclusive participation opportunities.
