ACTS LAW Investigates West Hollywood Water Main Break and Sinkhole

ACTS LAW is investigating several significant water main breaks that have led to extensive flooding across Los Angeles, causing damage to property and infrastructure. The firm is specifically scrutinizing the events in West Hollywood, where a major rupture caused a sinkhole near Sunset Boulevard, alongside other breaks in Studio City, Hollywood, and Boyle Heights during July.

The firm is accepting clients who have sustained property damage, vehicle damage, business losses, displacement, or other financial harm. The West Hollywood incident began on a Thursday morning when a 36-inch Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) trunk line ruptured. Water surged through the surrounding neighborhood, flooding underground parking garages and submerging vehicles. Pavement was buckled, and a large sinkhole opened.

LADWP officials stated the ruptured pipe dates back to 1916. City crews are working to pump water from the affected areas and inspect the damage to determine the cause and repair needs. ACTS LAW's investigation will examine the pipe's maintenance and inspection history, prior reports concerning the water system, and identify potentially responsible parties.

Our investigation will focus on why this happened, whether warning signs existed, and how those responsible intend to make affected residents and businesses whole."
