Acuity Analytics appoints Jon O’Donnell as CEO

Acuity Analytics has appointed Jon O’Donnell as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. He succeeds Rob King, who will transition to the role of Chairman on December 31, 2026, replacing the retiring Philip Gore-Randall. The succession is part of a broader organizational strategy supported by private equity backer Permira.

O’Donnell joined the group in 2024 as Chief Operating Officer after a 20-year tenure at IBM, where he oversaw consulting operations across the EMEA region. His appointment signals a shift toward deepening the firm's AI, data, and digital transformation capabilities, areas that have become central to the company’s growth plan.

To support this strategy, Acuity Analytics has been actively acquiring specialized firms. Recent additions include the October 2026 acquisition of US-based data consultancy Continuus, as well as previous purchases of AI specialist Ascent and managed services provider PPA Group. These acquisitions are designed to integrate technical expertise into the firm’s existing financial research and analytics operations.

The company, which operates with over 7,800 staff globally, intends to leverage these new capabilities to help financial services clients redesign operational workflows. As Chairman, King will continue to support investor relations and executive guidance during this transition.
