ADAC issues safety warning for multiple child car seat models in 2026 tests

The German automotive organization ADAC has warned against the use of eight child car seat models following significant failures in its 2026 spring crash tests. The tests revealed that several models suffer from structural weaknesses, specifically the failure of the seating shell to remain attached to the base during high-impact collisions.

A significant portion of the faulty products belongs to a category of "white-label" seats, which are technically identical but sold under various brand names, including Ding Aiden 360, Kidiz 360, and Lettas i-Size 360. ADAC notes that these products are often mass-produced and sold via online platforms without adequate oversight, making it difficult for consumers to recognize that they are purchasing the same potentially unsafe design under different labels.

In addition to these white-label products, manufacturer Kinderkraft has initiated a product recall for its Mink Pro 2 model and the Mink FX2 base due to similar safety deficiencies discovered during testing. ADAC emphasizes that consumer reviews on e-commerce sites are unreliable indicators of safety, as users rarely have the means to assess how a product performs under crash conditions.

ADAC advises parents to verify safety ratings through independent testing organizations rather than relying on online branding. Those who currently own the affected models are urged to cease their use immediately.
