ADAMA Launches Botanical Fungicide Actavan in Australia and New Zealand

BEIJING and TEL AVIV, Israel – ADAMA Ltd. has introduced Actavan®, a new botanical fungicide, to the Australian and New Zealand markets. The product is formulated for grape growers to protect against Botrytis, a common fungal disease.

Actavan® functions by stimulating the plant's natural defense mechanisms, specifically targeting Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR). Derived from beet extract, it activates genes that help the plant produce enzymes to break down pathogen cell walls and enhances the production of antimicrobial compounds. The company states the fungicide is biodegradable and non-toxic, aligning with integrated pest management practices.

The product offers growers flexibility, with no residue concerns and no pre-harvest interval, allowing for protection through harvest and into post-harvest storage. The Fungicide Resistance Action Committee (FRAC) has classified Actavan® under its distinct mode of action in P Group 11, providing growers with an additional tool for managing fungicide resistance.

Actavan® will be available for purchase in Australia and New Zealand starting in October 2026. ADAMA noted the launch addresses a growing demand from growers for crop protection solutions that combine efficacy with flexibility and sustainability.
