Adapt Launches Automation Tool for Late Payment Collections
Technology firm Adapt has introduced the Late Pay Agent, an automated system designed to help property and casualty insurance agencies manage overdue payments. The tool aims to reduce policy cancellations due to non-payment by automating the follow-up process.

San Francisco โ September 22, 2026 โ Adapt, an automation platform for the insurance industry, today announced the launch of its Late Pay Agent. This new autonomous agent is designed to assist property and casualty insurance agencies in preventing policy cancellations resulting from non-payment.
The Late Pay Agent automates the entire process of chasing late payments, removing manual interruptions for agencies. Adapt states that most agencies currently handle these follow-ups manually, often without a consistent, repeatable process. The new tool aims to streamline this by taking over the entire chase sequence until a payment is successfully recorded.
According to Adapt, the system provides documented records of every communication sent and received, which are logged into the agency's management system. This documentation is intended to lower errors and omissions risk. The tool also maintains the agency's brand identity by sending emails from the agency's own address and making calls and sending texts from the agency's phone number. Agencies can also specify which customer segments the automated follow-up applies to.
Adapt operates on a pay-per-resolution model. Agencies are charged only when a payment is successfully collected, regardless of the number of emails, texts, or calls made. If a policyholder pays before the agent intervenes, or if the policy is canceled, no charge is incurred.
"The Late Pay Agent takes it on and works every case until the premium is paid," said Jacob Simon, founder of Adapt. He added that the tool frees up account managers' time for higher-value tasks and claims it can save up to 93% of policies that reach the cancellation stage due to non-payment.
