AddSecure partners with Skills for Security to address UK technician shortage
AddSecure has partnered with Skills for Security to train new fire and security alarm system technicians in the UK, aiming to combat a growing skills gap in the industry.

AddSecure has launched a partnership with Skills for Security in the UK to address a significant skills shortage within the fire and security alarm sector. The company aims to leverage its extensive European experience in alarm services by actively investing in training the next generation of technicians.
The initiative, which began in September 2024, focuses on equipping apprentices with the necessary skills for installing and maintaining alarm systems. AddSecure has conducted 16 training sessions across three locations within its first year, successfully training 240 apprentices. This program is designed to ensure the company can meet current and future demand for skilled professionals.
Training combines theoretical knowledge with practical application. Apprentices receive instruction on installing AddSecure's NGP portfolio, diagnosing product faults, and field troubleshooting. Sessions also cover the company's history, values, and specific product offerings for the UK market, ensuring technicians are proficient with the company's technology.
AddSecure also participated in a careers fair organised by Skills for Security to promote the fire and security industry to young people. The company emphasizes ongoing support for qualified installers through its helpdesk, NGP App, and portal. Apprentices receive a certificate upon completion of the training program, validating their understanding of the curriculum.
