Adecco Group: AI is redesigning work, demanding new hybrid management

Adecco Group released a new report on July 23, 2026, titled 'On the threshold: AI, the future of work and the rise of hybrid labor markets,' developed in collaboration with Altermind. The report identifies business inertia as a primary risk to the global economy, stating that organizations are not redesigning work quickly enough to increase productivity and capitalize on AI investments.

The report indicates that AI is transforming tasks faster than it eliminates jobs, but the adaptation is uneven across sectors and organizational readiness. While millions of AI-related jobs were created between 2022 and 2025, only about 18–20 percent of U.S. and European companies have integrated AI at scale into their core workflows, leaving considerable room for transformation.

Adecco Group introduces a new management discipline called 'hybrid workforce orchestration,' which it believes will define work organization for the next decade. This approach focuses on redesigning work so that humans, AI agents, automation, and physical AI contribute to generating maximum value and impact.

"The evidence is clear: AI is radically transforming the future of work and creating an opportunity to redesign how organizations create value," stated Adecco Group CEO Denis Machuel. "The next phase of AI will be won by redesigning work, understanding what people need to do, and scaling the capacity created through hybrid workforce orchestration."
