Adecco Group Report Outlines Need for Hybrid Workforce Orchestration Amid AI Advancements

The Adecco Group has released a new whitepaper, developed with Altermind, titled "On the threshold: AI, the future of work and the rise of hybrid labor markets." The report argues that the primary risk facing the global economy is corporate inertia, with organizations failing to adapt work structures quickly enough to leverage artificial intelligence (AI).

The paper highlights that AI is altering tasks at a rapid pace, often creating new job roles rather than outright eliminating positions. Despite the creation of approximately 1.9 million new AI-related jobs between 2022 and 2025, AI adoption in core business workflows remains low, with only 18% of U.S. firms and 20% of European firms having integrated AI at scale.

This gap presents a significant opportunity for transformation, leading to the introduction of a new management discipline: hybrid workforce orchestration. This model focuses on redesigning work to optimally combine human capabilities, AI agents, and physical AI to maximize value creation and impact.

"AI is fundamentally changing what work will look like in the future and creating an opportunity to redesign how organizations create value," stated Denis Machuel, CEO of the Adecco Group. The report emphasizes that success in the next phase of AI integration will depend on understanding evolving skill requirements and redefining value creation and measurement. The Adecco Group aims to lead the human aspect of this AI transformation.
