Adept Materials' Lilypad Paint Named to TIME's Best Inventions List
Adept Materials' humidity-regulating Lilypad paint has been recognized on TIME's list of the year's best inventions. The paint is now available in seven new colors.
Somerville, Mass. – Adept Materials' Lilypad™ paint and primer, designed to prevent condensation and regulate humidity, has been named to TIME's list of the Best Inventions of 2026 in the Manufacturing & Materials category. The company announced the expansion of its product line to include seven new colors, all featuring the same patented moisture-control technology.
Lilypad is engineered for spaces prone to high humidity. The paint absorbs excess moisture when humidity levels rise and releases it as conditions normalize. A single gallon can absorb approximately 13 ounces of water vapor, akin to the amount released during a hot shower. By addressing the root cause of indoor moisture issues, the paint aims to prevent condensation and mold while improving comfort, air quality, and energy efficiency.
