ADP: US Private Sector Job Growth Slows in Late June

U.S. private employers added an average of 19,750 jobs per week during the four-week period concluding June 27, 2026. This figure, released by ADP Research Institute's NER Pulse update, shows a continued deceleration in hiring momentum for the third consecutive week. The data suggests a potential cooling of the labor market, as the pace of job additions has decreased week over week.

Previously, the pace of job creation was higher. The week ending June 20 saw an addition of 21,000 jobs, and the week ending June 13 recorded 24,250 jobs. The pace in early May was even more robust, with weekly job gains exceeding 40,000 at one point.

The NER Pulse is a preliminary estimate of weekly employment change derived from ADP's real-time data. The figures are seasonally adjusted and incorporate a two-week lag to ensure greater accuracy. These numbers provide an early indicator ahead of the official monthly ADP National Employment Report.

ADP Research Institute provides these weekly updates to offer timely insights into U.S. employment trends. The report, developed in collaboration with the Stanford Digital Economy Lab, is a key resource for understanding labor market dynamics.
