Advantest launches high-current power supply for V93000 platform

Semiconductor test equipment manufacturer Advantest Corporation has introduced the DC Scale XHC32, a power supply unit capable of delivering 640A. The hardware is designed to address the increasing power requirements of modern chips, including AI accelerators, high-performance computing (HPC) processors, and graphical processing units (GPUs).

By offering 32 channels on a single card, the unit enables parallel testing of devices that require high current, often exceeding 1000A at core voltages below 1V. Advantest emphasizes that the unit includes protective contact technology intended to prevent damage to expensive probe cards and sockets, thereby helping customers reduce their overall cost of test.

The DC Scale XHC32 maintains application compatibility with the existing UHC4T model, allowing manufacturers to leverage their current test hardware during the transition. The system is already operational at select customer sites and is scheduled for global release next month.
